About Me
Finding inspiration in nature.
I believe fine art should be accessible, so I set out to create an easy, fuss-free way to view and buy my work.
My drawings have a simple and clean aesthetic, with small details that offer new experiences the closer you get. I want each piece I create to be a tiny moment of calm enjoyment.

Biography
Surrey-based artist and illustrator Nicola Howell Hawley originally graduated with a degree in Fine Art from the university of Reading. After a circular route through book editing, teaching and illustrating, she finally came back to fine art, and is now developing her work with new studies of nature and wildlife - particular passions of hers. She largely uses oak gall ink with a dip pen, graphite pencil and pastel to produce detailed artwork that blends traditional and contemporary elements.

She is an associate member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art (the SGFA), and has illustrated a number of books.

She is open to commissions and enquiries about existing pieces.
